This client is a division of America’s Leader in abrasive power tool technology. The company is into manufacturing of power tools for industrial applications. The client’s India Operations started in 2007 with the Office and Plant located in Navi Mumbai. The client manages a warehouse in Mumbai for its network of distributors, customer service for distributors and consumers, technical advice for applications and after sales services.

Objectives of ERP

They wanted to put a structured and disciplined business operation right from the start rather than having chaos after scaling up of the operations. The parent company is using Oracle Applications for their global operations. For India, they decided to go for a cost- effective ERP which would also take care of typical statutory issues of imports, taxation, etc. and had a good understanding of the Indian business environment. An ERP that was web-enabled for future growth with low cost of scalability.

Solution Choice

The client opted for standard business process available in ebizframe. Some minor customizations were done to suit their business operations including some crucial costing related MIS. Some of the customizations done are as follows

  • Price-list Master for products along with the groups
  • Customer category wise discount definition and history of old MRP
  • Auto updation of serial number in material receipt note through bar coding interface
  • Tracking of  products with BOE (Bill of Entry) details including costs and lot numbers
  • Invoice report in multiple format with SAD (Specially Assessable Duty) and without SAD
  • Auto update of  lot numbers in sales return
  • Landed rate and sales profit reports
  • Cost and Profit Margin reports


After the implementation of ebizframe, the client has been able to keep the track of pending orders including value wise which has helped them in keeping inventory carrying cost in control. The client wanted to keep a track of products on various parameters in case of defect reporting or sales return. It can back track up to the consignment number with unique barcode for each product under which the material is received. One of the most important benefits after implementing ebizframe is that the client follows a structured and disciplined business process which was the primary objective for them going for an ERP for a start up organization in India. Costing and margin reports have given them a good on-line tool to monitor the health of its business on day to day basis.


ebizframe has been implemented on Dell server with Xeon processor and 4GB RAM. At the Mumbai Office there are 10 users with normal Pentium IV machine

In the coming months the client is planning to connect ebizframe to its counterparts in the USA through web.
