The Organization was established as a result of the decoupling of the existing Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in line with the modern trends in the aviation industry. The company was registered in January 2006 with the responsibility for planning, developing, managing and maintaining all airports and aerodromes in Ghana namely Kotoka International Airport (KIA) and the regional airports namely Kumasi, Tamale, Sunyani as well as various airstrips. The Company commenced business on 1st January 2007.

Objectives of ERP The business solution earlier in use was taken up as a gap strategy to prevent collapse of business reporting. However, there were many inherited functionality limitations which needed to be addressed. Such limitations were based on the fact that the systems were built on 1996 technology and rendered un-operational in the immediate future.
The software systems in use before ebizframe ERP in organization were as follows:

  • Payroll – Persol
  • Scala Accounting (General Ledger, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Stock Control)
  • Personnel Management

As a result of the limitations associated with incompatibility of the software, users were compelled to resort to manual processing of accounting and administrative reports with its resultant delay in production of reports.

In the light of this development, the only option was to procure an ERP application. ERP is a total integrated business process solution. All modules are compatible and operate from a common platform. This eliminates all manual interventions related to data capture, processing and reporting.

In line with the public procurement law in Ghana, the organization floated tender for an integrated Software solution.   • Implementation of ebizframe Xlenz
  • Further enhancement of Phase-I modules
