FAQ
Total IT Outsourcing

Why do I need TITO? Will it be cost-effective for me?

You would often be found taking IT decisions such as

What PC to buy?
What laptop to buy?
Which is the best way to link my office with factories?
My next factory is coming up in 3 months. How do I plan for the IT infrastructure?
Can I automate my attendance system?

  And so on..

You might have taken these decisions without really knowing about the "actual" merits and demerits of a decision. You might not be sure whether buying a P-IV laptop of Sony was better or worse than buying a Centrino from IBM or Compaq. You might not even be aware of other vendors who can provide you the same laptops or PCs for less. You would probably go by word of mouth, brand or cost considerations. In the end you might have spend vital personhours of yours and a number of people in your company and yet would have taken a more costly decision. And all this valuable time of yours got spent taking decisions on matters which you maybe understand very little. Imagine if you could devote the same time on taking decisions in your core competence areas.

I can easily manage my IT by keeping a EDP person at low cost? Why should I look at outsourcing?

The EDP persons have their own limitations. Being bogged down by routine fire fighting, there are very few in the community who are aware of latest in technological trends. Plus they have limited exposure to a set of vendors. While your EDP person might be an excellent advisor as well, but then you are risking your IT by putting all stakes on a single individual. We are sure that you know how mobile are IT professionals these days. It will always be better to outsource the IT to a company.

Why should I look at outsourcing IT? Is it cost effective? Will I save IT hassles?

When you are not outsourcing your IT, you are dealing with multiple vendors for PCs, Laptops, Links, and Networking etc. Often the responsibility of problems in IT infrastructure keeps rotating between various vendors leaving you high and dry. When you outsource IT, you have a single window solution. The vendor might be doing it himself or managing a multiple vendors, but that is his problem. For you, you only have one company to catch hold of. Imagine dealing with a single vendor for your entire IT infrastructure Vs dealing with multiple vendors for multiple IT equipment. You choose whether you want to increase or decrease your problems.

In terms of direct costs it might look more expensive to outsource at the first sight. However when you look at savings in terms of better deals and opportunity costs of being more available to your core competence, you will find that IT outsourcing is far more economical than keeping your own IT team.

Why should I choose ESS as a TITO provider rather than a Hardware vendor?

A process driven, CMM Level 5 company - There are hardly any companies in this segment who have CMM level 5 culture, a culture driven by measurable and  improvable  numbers

ESS being a software (ERP) vendor enjoys distinct advantages over hardware or any IT outsourcing company.

Understanding of existing system

Understanding of areas of concerns of the organization

Being software vendor we have tie-ups with many hardware vendors which gives us more flexibility and choices

Generally speaking, Software companies are more process oriented than hardware companies

ESS has the mindset of a service organization unlike box sellers whose main aim is to sell Boxes
