About the Contest

Eastern Software Systems (ESS) is organizing a contest themed “Emerging Enterprise Technologies”. Contestants can submit their presentation based on selected themes for participation. The presentations will be hosted on our SlideShare account (http://www.slideshare.net/ess_india/presentations) and judged on basis of the number of views.

Presentation Themes

Contestants can submit the presentation on any topic based on the following themes:

1. Emerging technologies and their use for Enterprises
2. Benefits of Emerging Technologies to Enterprises
3. Open Source Technologies for Enterprises
4. Social Networking Tools for Enterprises
5. Emerging Technologies in ERP space that can help organizations

Note: You may create a new presentation or use an existing presentation which is not already uploaded on Slideshare.  The presentation must not be an advertorial.

Last Date of Entry (Receipt of Presentations)

Contestants can submit their presentations by 18 June 2011, 1800 hours Indian Standard Time to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Prize

• Top 10 selected presentations will be uploaded on ESS’s Slideshare account on 22 June 2011 (Wednesday) between 0930 hours to 1700 hours. The decision on the Top 10 presentations will be taken by ESS and no queries in this regard shall be entertained.
• After uploading the presentations ESS will email the presentation link to selected contestants.
• The highest viewed presentation (as on June 30, 2011 at 1200 hours Indian Standard Time) will be given a Gift Voucher worth INR 1500 from an Online Retailer or an equal amount will be paid by a valid mode of payment.
• The presentation will be linked on our Website, Facebook Account and Twitter account and promoted through various online channels. The winner will get wide publicity. Only contestants agreeing to this should apply for the contest.

Contest Procedure and Dates

• The contest will end on 30th June 2011 at 1200 Hours Indian Standard Time. The Presentation with highest number of views will be considered the winner.  The number of views will be considered as available on the link: http://www.slideshare.net/ess_india and NOT on individual presentations.
• ESS will take a print screen of the page at 30th June 2011 at 1200 hours Indian Standard Time which will be the basis of counting the views. If Slideshare site is down at that time or if ESS faces any technical difficulty at that moment, the snapshot will be taken later at the first instance when ESS is able to take the Snapshot.

Submission Procedure

• Contestants need to create a presentation with minimum 10 slides and maximum 20 slides and should not exceed 5 MB in size.
• The last slide should have contestant’s name and contact details.
• Only individuals are allowed to enter the contest in an individual capacity. Organizations are not allowed to participate in the contest. Individuals submitting on Organization behalf will also not be entertained. Once we receive it, we will add one slide at the end with information about the contest requesting users to share it further.
• Contestants need to send their presentation via email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with the following declaration in their email text: “I declare that I am the creator and owner of this presentation. I permit ESS to upload this presentation on their Slideshare account for the contest. I abide by the terms and conditions of the contest held by ESS. I understand the judgment of ESS will be final and binding on me.”

Terms and Conditions

• This contest is organized by Eastern Software Systems and not by Slideshare.  However, all SlideShare terms and conditions will apply.
• The decision of the winner will be taken by ESS on basis of the set criteria. The decision of ESS will be final and binding on all contestants. No claims will be entertained.
• The presentation should be unique and created by contestant himself/herself.  Contestant may submit their existing presentations also. Contestant need to provide ESS a written permission (as mentioned above) to use the presentation on ESS’s Slideshare Account or on its website.
• The presentation must be based on the theme as mentioned and should not contain any negative /derogatory/ unprofessional information/ hate material. Such presentations would be summarily rejected by ESS. ESS reserves the right to deny entry to any presentation in the contest based on its content.
• ESS also reserves the right to continue or discontinue hosting the presentation on its Slideshare account / our website at any stage.
• ESS reserves the right to cancel or discontinue or change the contest due to any unavoidable reason. The decision of ESS will be final and binding on all contestants and no claims will be entertained.
